Vice President of Ministry Operations
Russ and Jen Tappero grew up together in Olympia, Washington at Evergreen Christian Center. They were married in 1991 and enrolled at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. Russ graduated in 1994 and was ordained by the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God in 1995. Russ and Jen served in youth ministry and associate work in Washington state from 1993 to 2000. They served churches in Edmonds, Sedro-Woolley, Bothell, and Medical Lake. In 2001 Russ and Jen began pastoring Ridgeview Christian Center in Spokane, Wa. During their 5 year tenure, Russ served on the local committee and state board of Pacific Northwest Teen Challenge Spokane Men’s Center. Russ was also elected to serve as Presbyter of the Spokane Section of the Northwest Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God in November of 2004. In Fall of 1989 as a college Freshman, God had a calling on Russ' life for ministry. Russ asked God for direction and immediately the response was found in a Teen Challenge presentation at a chapel service at Northwest. Russ wrote to his grandmother Lois Eldred about the powerful calling to TC in a letter. In the Summer of 2005 Russ found the letter in a file his grandmother had kept. God was stirring Russ and Jen that something different was on the horizon. Within 4 months, Mike Hodges moved from CEO of TCPN to the President of TCUSA, Chris Hodges moved from Executive Director of the TCPN Spokane Men's Center to CEO of TCPN, and Chris asked Russ to be his Executive Director in Spokane. Russ continues to serve on various boards and committees. Jennifer was hired by Spokane Men’s Center in the summer of 2006 and is currently working part time in the office. In November of 2011, Jennifer started her own business, a women's clothing consignment store in Medical Lake, WA called Corner Closet Boutique which serves as a great ministry opportunity in this bedroom community of Spokane. Russ and Jen have 4 children. Micah, Jackson, Bailey, and Carson. Russ is an avid golfer and Jennifer loves to thrift shop. As a family they like to ride motorcycles, go boating and fishing, and root for their favorite college football team, the University of Washington Huskies. In addition to UW Football, the Tappero's are fans of Southwestern Assembly of God University where their oldest son Micah is a Freshman football player. Go Lions!
