Central Oregon Men’s Center
We’ve had the blessing and opportunity this last month to join Peak 7 and In His Wakes for fun outings this past month. Peak 7 is a faith-based non-profit that gives marginalized young people the opportunity to go on an adventure while using the outing to show God’s creation and Christ in ourselves. With Peak 7 we went river rafting down the Deschutes as well as a hike to a natural water slide. The trip was paired with a good bible message and fellowship together. In His Wakes is a ministry that seeks to show the life-changing power of Jesus Christ through water sports outings. This enabled our students the opportunity to go tubing, wake-boarding and water skiing. This empowered many of our students who didn’t believe they had the courage or skill to have fun on the water. Coupled with a powerful message about Christ getting us out of our comfort zones, we had a wonderful day.
One of the most important projects that I have been working on is the remodel of our current kitchen. 72 meals a day are cooked out of our basic family style kitchen and it’s in desperate need of updating & remodeling. The countertops have water damage and the cabinets are falling apart. We are planning on tearing the entire kitchen out to the studs and installing all new cabinets, flooring & appliances. This project is long overdue and we know it will make mealtimes more functional. My goal is to have this project done before the snow hits as we will have to cook on BBQ’s and use other facilities we have available to us. If you are able to come out and lend us a hand with the demo or flooring portion please reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your continued support and by helping us Put Hope Within Reach.
Also a praise report for our 4 students who got baptized at Spiritual Emphasis 12. What a blessing it is to see these men make the public declaration of dying to their old selves and stepping into their new life as Christians.
Tri Cities Men’s Center
We were able to attend the annual Spiritual Emphasis event at Silver Lake Bible Camp in Medical Lake Washington with every Adult & Teen Challenge center in the PNW Region! What a blessing! This event came at a perfect time and many of our students experienced God in a new and more powerful way than they ever had before. Many received breakthroughs in areas they had been struggling with. As we came together with others and worshipped God, great things happened in our midst!
We celebrated and honored 4 of the men who graduated from the program this year! These 4 men were able to come for the festivities at Spiritual Emphasis and take part in the Sunday night graduation service.
4 students were baptized in commitment and obedience to God!
Seattle Men’s Center
Spiritual Emphasis 2018 was a pivotal point for many of the guys here at the Seattle Metro Campus. Like always the week leading up to Spiritual Emphasis was a struggle, so many spiritual attacks, the enemy did not want the guys to experience what God had in store for them. Once we got there though, amazing things happened, and God showed up! Worship this year was incredible because of the passion behind the worship leaders. The events and activities were fun as always. We had several guys fish and they said they had a blast because they caught so many.
The best part of the weekend for us was the baptisms. We had three gentlemen get baptized at Spiritual Emphasis. Seeing God mending broken lives and broken families is exactly why we do what we do here at Adult and Teen Challenge. God is so good and we here at the Seattle Metro Men’s campus were blessed by Spiritual Emphasis 2018.
Spokane Men’s Center
Spiritual Emphasis 2018 at Silver Lake was a fun yet powerful time. Eight of our students were baptized and made public declarations of saying YES to Jesus! It was a beautiful scene seeing some of our students families get out in the water with us during these sacred moments. We also graduated seven students who have successfully completed their aftercare free from addiction and living to please the Lord.
Bragging rights! Spokane Men’s Center took home the trophy for the annual volleyball tournament at Spiritual Emphasis 2018. Who said clean and sober living cannot be fun!?
Eugene Women’s Center
This summer has wound down but our campus has been busy as ever! This has been a season of community outreach, focusing on going out, giving back and sharing hope. Our ladies are loving it! Eugene Women’s Campus was able to serve at Project Hope, a back to school fair for local children in need. We never knew our ladies were so gifted at face painting! And seeing the kids faces light up after seeing themselves in a mirror made a long day more than worth it. We’ve also been able to share our hope at Eugene Sunday Streets and multiple storefronts. All this serving has created a new fire in our ladies that we are excited to carry into the winter.
