November Update

Spokane Campus
Spokane Men’s Center
- Our pumpkin patch was a success and we had many preschoolers from our local community come out and enjoy the festivities.
- We partnered with our neighbors at the West Prairie Village Mobile Home Park to put on a Harvest Party for the kids. We had a chili cook-off, pumpkin carving, and pumpkin decorating. It was a great way to build community.
- This year we participated at the community event called Hands Across the Falls where organizations came together to celebrate recovery.
- Our men sang Glorious Day by Passion at our 2018 Gala and people were on their feet inspired by the song and the testimony of our men.
Portland Metro Campus
We continue to build relationships with Churches in our area. We had the opportunity to attend Oregon City Presbyterian Church, as well as Estacada Community Fellowship, a church right down the street from our center.
We have a new sponsored student this month, his name is Daniel. He has been such an amazing addition to our Center.
Central Oregon Campus
Central Oregon Men’s Campus has connected with a mobile community clinic! This mobile clinic offers medical services to those in our community experiencing homelessness, family care, pediatrics, women’s health, medication assistance, care coordination, and support services. They will be at our location on 435 NE Burnside Ave, Bend OR 97701 in the apartment parking lot from 1:30-5:00pm on Mondays. This resource is available to those in our immediate community here in Bend and is a great way to help impact this neighborhood.
Tri-Cities Women’s Jail Outreach
What a wonderful time we had at the Tri-Cities Women’s Jail Outreach Volunteer Appreciation Brunch. We had delicious food at CG Public House, sharing by several women, gifts for each to choose and little spa bags with our traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas chocolates and a brand new, smoothly writing pen. Twenty one volunteers attended this annual event.
We included training as well and Gloria sang “Thank you For Giving to the Lord” rewritten to talk about the gratitude so many of our students feel toward our volunteers. Only a few of our volunteers have direct contact with our jails. Most of our women are the unseen hands that diligently work on literature and Bible studies and pray as others are more visible. We are thankful for a team that serves together, prays together, and stands together in unity.
Seattle Campus
Mathew 28:19-20.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”
Holy Spirit, stir up the memory of our death to sin, presented in the powerful picture of baptism, so that we may celebrate our new life in Christ. Amen.
Tri-Cities Campus
We were blessed with some great opportunities for the men to enjoy outings this month! They attended a Tri Cities Americans Hockey Game and The Jon Christ: Human Being Tour comedy show. We also held our first game night with board games and retro gaming consoles set up arcade style in the house. It was a blast! These types of outings are so important for our men to have balance in their lives and to look forward to all that a new life in Christ can be for them!
This month we also celebrated as 2 students completed the program and continued on as interns here at the local campus. Both men will live on site for the next year while enrolled in Teen Challenge Ministry Institute and have opportunities for hands on ministry with our students. We are grateful for their commitments and excited for what their futures hold!
